Define Irony....

Does anyone else find the following ironic: I am driving the 75 miles to work tonight and every few moments I notice giant ELECTRIC signs, normally used for Amber Alerts, that say:

FLEX YOUR POWER CALIFORNIA
SAVE ENERGY

Hmm.... 20 plus billboards with about 200 tiny light bulbs lit up on each one..... Well I think I know where some of the CA energy crisis is coming from!!!!

HOLY SHIT! You drive 150 miles round trip every day?? Good God, woman! How in the Sam Blazes do you do it? Do you make that commute on a Moped? How else would you be able to afford the fuel? I'm floored.....it's unbelievable. Just damn!

Oh I'm sorry....your point...right. Yes, 'tis ironic that they use enough electricity to power a small village just to advertise the message that YOU should conserve power.

You must really love your job.....alot. Damn.

To wadical, I do love my job. I also love that they pay me $30-$33 an hour depending which agency I work at! However as to the fuel dilema, I just took on an other job at "only" $20 just 5 miles from my house. (I am a free agent and enjoy working for 3 different PDs now)The pay cut will be worth it as to wear and tear on both my truck and my mind!

A free agent? I've never heard of that. Do the agencies use the same CAD system? Or do you have to start training from scratch at each agency?
