11-99 Officer Down
I don't know what to say, I am not OK, today. Another CHP officer was killed a few days ago. This is a friend of my husband's. Someone he knew in the Marine Corps. We will travel to attend his funeral on Thursday. His wife is a former Marine wife, cop wife and police dispatcher, just like me. She is living my worst nightmare. Pray for the CHiPies, they are understaffed and overworked, and lately, they are dropping like flies.

Rebecca, I am so sorry. I can't imagine this happening on my watch. I don't know if I could go on. Espcecially, in your position being a cop's wife. Thanks for your comments on my problems, which seem very small compared to yours. I'm with you, and will keep you and your husband in my prayers.
Oh no. That is awful. Please know I will be thinking about you. From one cop's wife to another, I can only imagine what you are dealing with right now. Be strong, and let me know if you need to talk. I emailed you the other day, but in case you didn't get it I will email you again so you can have my email address.
You and your husb will be in my prayers. Cops funerals are so hard to attend, I'll be thinking of you and the family on Thurs. Why does this keep happening to CHP!? Its seems like their fatalities are on the rise, more so than any other department. Its heartbreaking. Seems like there should be something they can do. New policies, procedures?
Damn. I got no words of comfort for you. I wish I did, but I know nothing but time assuages the pain of such a tragedy. I'll pray for strength for you all. I've been to too many funerals. I know they are hard. Chin up.
